About Us
Welcome to Story Church. Your Story Matters.
Our church story began in 2019 at the home of our head pastor, Leighton Lockett. It was founded with the intention to build and foster strong God-fearing communities. Since then, our church family has expanded into its own building and continues to grow and thrive. Story Church has become known for its diverse, welcoming, and family-oriented atmosphere as we seek to follow the Lord in everything that we do.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help people connect God's story with their story and become fully devoted followers of Christ as we help people Know, Grow, and Go with God and others.
Know. We want to help you know God and become the person He has created you to be. When we know our identity in Christ, we have hope. Wherever you are in life, you matter. Your story has a purpose.
Grow. We desire to see you grow in relationship with God and community with others. We do this by equipping people to walk together as disciples in Spirit and Truth. Your story has a next chapter.
Go. We want to empower you to go share God’s love with your community and the world. When we experience God’s story, we are changed, and are compelled to share with others. Your story is part of a bigger story.

Our Head Pastor

We are so excited to be a part of planting Story Church in Lubbock, Texas! I’m from Lubbock. I graduated from Texas Tech. Melissa and I married there and this year we along with our five young children will see the beginning of a dream fulfilled. In my 25 years of ministry I have served as Youth and College Pastor, Missions Pastor, and Associate Pastor on the front end of launching a multi-site church.

When we found Every Nation with their three-pronged execution of the gospel (church planting, campus ministry, and world missions) we felt we shared the same DNA. We see a church that empowers believers to be ministers of the gospel. Ministry is a calling for all who believe in Jesus and call him Savior. Our mission is to empower and equip the body of Christ to identify and tap into their God-given talents so that we might reach and make disciple-makers for Christ.

We are praying for a “wave” of people to join us. For some that will mean physically relocating and joining the core team in Lubbock. Others will come alongside us financially and we ask everyone to pray as together we can do more than we ever could apart. We all have a special role to play in His Story and we would love for your story to join ours.
